If you have a fault with your system , We have the experience , diagnostic equipment , tools and a well stocked van should you need any parts to get you back up and running quickly. If your existing system is worn out or simply need a new installation , this can usually be carried out on the same day.

Starlink / Amazon Leo Installation

If you are suffering with poor internet speeds because you are in a rural area or your provider has no plans to upgrade the network any time soon, then Starlink or (Amazon Leo coming soon) Works by providing high speed internet through a constellation of Low Orbit Satellites enabling connectivity in remote or underserved areas. Our Services include Chopping out the plasterwork, concealing cable in Conduit or trunking and re-plastering to a smooth finish, ready for re-decoration. If you have a studded or drylined wall then its possible to conceal the cable behind these without disturbing your existing decoration.

Sky, Satellite Dish, Freesat Installation & Repairs

SD Installs offers installation of the latest satellite systems, including Sky, Freesat, and free-to-air options for European channels like German, Italian, and French. We ensure all satellite dishes are expertly aligned for the best signal. SD Installs also performs repairs and installations for Fixed or Motorised satellites, enabling you to enjoy hundreds of channels. Dishes can be mounted on gable or side walls near the TV, but if there are line of sight issues, they may need to be placed on a chimney or further away. We always aim to install as discreetly as possible.

Testing & Inspections

Having poor TV reception is frustrating, especially if you don’t know what’s causing it. That’s where our troubleshooting service can help. With years of testing and inspection experience, I can diagnose your TV or aerial problems quickly. Digital signal levels (MUX) received at the user end must be within certain tolerances; otherwise, having too much signal instead of not enough can yield the same effect. Every installation or service call is checked with a spectrum analyser and adjusted accordingly.

Don’t let bad pictures or lost channels spoil your viewing experience. We can provide a complete service for your aerial systems to find and fix any issues. If you have an older wideband aerial (there’s no such thing as a digital aerial) and you’re experiencing pixelation or a “No signal” message, this may be due to 4/5G interference from a nearby mast or simply a worn-out system. An aerial upgrade or filters can be installed to solve this. I have the tools to repair your signal issues and get you back to watching in no time.

If you want more TV viewing options throughout your home, office , Bar or sports club, then we can install extra TV points or control your main subscription box in other rooms with HDMI distribution over cat5/6 cabling. There are different ways to do this depending on your requirements and signal strength, including the use of signal boosters or splitters to ensure optimal performance. TV installation and tutorial, on an existing stand (not wall mounted).

Are you making a purchase online or from a large retail outlet? Did you know these outlets offer installation but have a set time to carry out the work (around 35-45 minutes)?

Ethernet / Networking

Ethernet and networking point installation services from your existing router.

Are you working from home and struggling with a poor WIFI signal because your workstation or office is located on the opposite side of the property from your router? SD Installs can provide various solutions, including Wireless Access Points (WAP), data points, or installing a mesh system to address this issue.

Freesat Dish Upgrade/Freesat installation

From £85

Existing Freesat dish upgraded to a quad or wideband LNB (depending on the age of the dish) and an extra feed for recording.

Supply and fit a complete new Freesat dish/quad or wideband LNB with a single or twin feed for connection to your TV or Freesat recorder box.

A wideband LNB will allow you to record three programmes at once and watch a fourth.

With a hybrid LNB installed, it’s possible to run six feeds off one dish: two feeds to support wideband (SKY Q or the new Freesat recorder) and four feeds left to support legacy TVs with Freesat or satellite tuners built in, or the older style Freesat boxes.

Wall Mount – Small (up to 26″)

Wall mount up to a 26-inch TV screen with surface-mounted cables in conduit. This method keeps all cables hidden in PVC channels on the wall, providing a clean and safe setup. It’s perfect for solid walls, rental properties, or when you want a non-destructive installation.

If your cables aren’t long enough to reach power sources or AV equipment, we can provide longer ones for an extra cost. We also offer various brackets, including flat and multi-position options if needed.

Wall Mount – Large
(up to 85″)

From £85

Wall mount up to 85 inch TV screen. Surface mounted cables in conduit. Large screen televisions need large screen brackets and fixings. Depending on the type of wal it will be fixed to stud, dry lined or solid brick /block.

SD Installs have been installing televisions for over 33 years. Our product knowledge is second to none whether your television is a new purchase or an older television.

SD Installs have the experience and knowledge to fit the correct fixings for each type of TV and wall ,so you don’t have to worry about it falling off.

Your local DIY person may be able to do this for you but will they have all the parts and fixings on board to complete the task at hand.

Starlink installation

From £180

Choosing between a wall and a chimney mount for your starlink depends on your property’s obstructions and structural integrity.

If the property has a clear view of the sky with minimal overhangs from gutters / soffitts & fascias then a wall mounted installation with easier access is the best option. If you have obstructions from wide building overhangs or trees causing line of sight issues then a chimney mounted installation may an alternative solution, but these can be more costly due to being more labour intensive and having to use specialised access equipment like roof crawlers etc to gain access.

Chimneys require dedicated cradle brackets/ lashing kits and heavy duty poles due to wind loads on the dish. these are used so no drilling is required into the brickwork causing damage. At the moment Starlink can offer free installation through third party companies but these are only standard installs so it may not work for you. Every job is different so please get in touch to discuss your requirements and a free no obligation quotation.

Aerial Installation

From £180

Wall mount / Chimney mount or loft mounted aerial too one point or existing distribution box.
Digital specification cable, galvanized chimney or wall bracket and heavy duty mast used on every external aerial installation. WHY? If you have received a cheaper quote, the installer may well be using painted wall or chimney brackets , steel masts or budget aerials and cable. With inferior parts installed.

These will eventually rust , causing staining to Rendered roperty walls or cladding. A correctly installed aerial should last 10-15 years plus.

If you are a new build developer or purchaser, due to aesthetics or site access, it may be necessary to install the aerial in the loft, SD Installs have the tools / equipment and years of experience to carry out the installation fast and efficiently whether this is to one point or multiple points.

Extra TV points can be installed from £80. This will depend on whether the signal can be split (a signal meter and diagnostics test will be carried out to determine this beforehand) or a cable can be taken from an existing amplifier or a new amplifier (extra cost) will need to be installed to maintain signal quality.
